Definition

Year of certificate, diploma or degree completion refers to the year in which the person completed his or her highest certificate, diploma or degree.

Person refers to an individual and is the unit of analysis for most social statistics programs.

Measurements

  • 'Calendar year' is expressed in single years, from the earliest year on the file to the reference year.

    Note: Single years can be collapsed to form larger categories, typically of five or ten years. February 15, 2016 to current

    Note: Single years can be collapsed to form larger categories of five or ten years, beginning with those years that are five or ten years before a specified reference year.
