This industrial sector covers the production or distribution of consumer goods and services not elsewhere classified. Food processing, wholesaling or retailing are not covered here. Motor vehicle dealers are covered in 3041 - Motor Vehicle Dealers. Accommodation, restaurants and recreation services are covered in Sector P - Accommodation, Restaurants and Recreation Services.

85 - Apparel

This subsector consists of groupings of companies primarily engaged in the manufacturing and wholesaling of footwear and clothing for men, women and children.

86 - Household Furniture and Other Consumer Goods

This subsector consists of groupings of companies primarily engaged in manufacturing and wholesaling household furniture and consumer goods not elsewhere classified.

87 - Specialty Merchandise Retailing

This subsector consists of groupings of companies primarily engaged in retailing specialized lines of goods (except food). The rental and repair of these goods are covered here.

88 - General Merchandise Retailing

This subsector consists of groupings of companies primarily engaged in retailing a variety of products through departmentalized or general stores. Retailing of food and beverages is not covered here.

89 - Other Consumer Services

This subsector consists of groupings of companies primarily engaged in providing services to persons or households not elsewhere classified.
