Variant of CIP 2000 - NGS University-level Historical Groupings
Status: This standard was approved as a departmental standard on August 17, 2015.
This variant of CIP 2000 was designed to be used in conducting historical analysis of National Graduates Survey (NGS) data.
The variant can be used to compare field of study (FOS) data that is coded using either the University Student Information System (USIS) or CIP 2000.
The variant consists of nine groupings, from 1 to 9. The groupings are further broken out into thirty one sub-groupings that are a convenient and useful basis for summarizing and analysing more detailed classes from USIS or CIP 2000.
