This instructional program class comprises any fellowship training program that prepares physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with digestive and other gastrointestinal disorders. These programs include instruction in surgical procedures, cancer of the digestive system, nutrition and malnutrition, and counselling the behavioural adjustment of patients with chronic problems. Requires prior completion of a residency program in internal medicine.
