This industry comprises establishments primarily engaged in providing residential care services for persons diagnosed with a developmental disability. These facilities may provide some health care, though the focus is protective supervision, room, board and counselling. This care can be provided in a group home or institutional setting. Some institutions may be referred to as hospitals for persons with developmental disabilities.
62322 - Residential facilities for persons with a mental health or substance use condition
This industry comprises establishments primarily engaged in providing residential care and treatment for patients with mental health and substance use conditions. These establishments provide room, board, supervision, counselling and other social services. Medical services may be available but they are incidental to the counselling, mental health rehabilitation and support services offered. These establishments generally provide a wide range of social services in addition to counselling.
