Classification of programs and credentials
13 - Master's-level program
This category includes graduate programs that normally require a bachelor's degree for admission. Educational activities in these programs may be counted towards a master's degree. Degrees from these programs normally allow entry into doctoral-level programs. 'Master's-level program' is also referred to as 'Graduate program (second cycle)'.
13.1 - Master's-level short credential
This category includes attestations or other short credentials for graduate programs that normally require a bachelor's degree for admission. Educational activities in these programs may be counted towards a master's degree. These are formal qualifications granted upon successful completion of programs that are shorter than programs where a certificate, diploma or degree is the formal qualification awarded.
13.2 - Master's certificate
This category includes certificates for graduate programs that normally require a bachelor's degree for admission. Educational activities in these programs may be counted towards a master's degree.
13.3 - Master's diploma
This category includes diplomas for graduate programs that normally require a bachelor's degree for admission. Educational activities in these programs may be counted towards a master's degree.
13.4 - Master's degree
This category includes degrees for graduate programs that normally require a bachelor's degree for admission. These degrees normally allow for entry into doctoral-level programs.
13.5 - Other master's-level credential
This category includes other recognized credentials for graduate programs that normally require a bachelor's degree for admission. Educational activities in these programs may be counted towards a master's degree. This category excludes master's-level short credentials, certificates, diplomas and degrees.
