Introduction
Purpose
The purpose of this survey is to collect and compile data to measure the monthly change in the movement of the price of wholesale services. These prices are combined and chained to form a price index. The estimates are produced on a quarterly basis.
Additional information
The Wholesale Price Report collects prices of product transactions to create the Wholesale Services Price Index (WSPI). This index measures the price movements of services provided by wholesalers and is used to answer questions related to real output, productivity and valuation of imports for the wholesale sector. Your information may also be used by Statistics Canada for other statistical and research purposes.The WSPI can also be used by businesses to measure their performance against industry trends, as well as for international comparisons of productivity, inflation and trade.You are legally required to complete this questionnaire according to the Statistics Act.
Confidentiality
Statistics Canada is prohibited by law from releasing any information it collects which could identify any person, business, or organization, unless consent has been given by the respondent or as permitted by the Statistics Act. Statistics Canada will use the information from this survey for statistical purposes.
Record linkage
To enhance the data from this survey and to minimize the reporting burden, Statistics Canada may combine it with information from other surveys or from administrative sources.
Security of emails and faxes
Statistics Canada advises you that there could be a risk of disclosure during the transmission of information by facsimile or e-mail. However, upon receipt, Statistics Canada will provide the guaranteed level of protection afforded all information collected under the authority of the Statistics Act. Note: There is no risk of disclosure if you are completing a web-based questionnaire online.

Reporting instructions
For each product, please verify the product specifications and report monthly average purchase and monthly average selling prices for the current quarter. Please also report any missing historical data.
