The population consists of approximately 7 establishments manufacturing domestic washing machines and clothes dryers in Canada. The survey collected data on production, sales and stocks at the end of the month for these products. The sales figures were collected on a provincial basis. The main use was to provide information to study market trends in the manufacture of these products. The derivative use was to enhance the quality of the data collected in the Annual Census of Manufactures.
