Sampling and collection
For reference year 2020, CHS collection includes all 10 provinces and the three territorial capitals (Whitehorse, Yellowknife and Iqaluit).
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, collection via Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) is not possible and data in the three territorial capitals are collected instead using self-response Electronic Questionnaire (rEQ) and Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI) follow-up.
For reference year 2020, data are collected from the beginning of January until mid-May 2021 in all 10 provinces and from the beginning of January until the end of March 2021 in the three territorial capitals. In reference period year 2018, data were collected from the beginning of November 2018 until the end of March 2019.
