Agroecosystems are complex mosaics of annual and perennial cropland, pastures and semi-natural habitat that are managed for multiple uses and functions (food provision, livelihood, recreation, education, habitat, biodiversity, carbon storage, etc.).
Geographic area refers to areas whose boundaries are specifically delimited in accordance with well-defined concepts and which, in total, cover the entire landmass of Canada. It excludes Canadian territorial enclaves abroad.
