Sector of the economy refers to a group of resident institutional units that have similar objectives. There are six sectors: households sector, the non-profit institutions serving households sector, the financial corporations sector, non-financial corporations sector, the general governments sector, and the non-residents sector.

Physical flow refers to the consumption of water or energy and emissions of gaseous constituents.
