First marriage rate of population, ratio

First marriage rate refers to the number of first marriages per 1,000 individuals in a given population, it can be based on males, females or either ones. It can also be reported for specific age groups. Age groups only include people under 50 years old. In cases where the persons' ages were unknown, the data were not distributed across known age categories.

Population refers to the total membership, based on specific characteristics, of a group of people, objects or events at a given time and within a particular geographic area.

The data for this variable are reported using the following measurements:

  • Rate per 1,000 females
  • Rate per 1,000 males
