Classification of Language(s) of Person 2016 - Aboriginal languages variant

Usage

In this classification, category labels refer to languages. For example, "English" is understood to mean "English language".

The classification version of 'Language(s) of Person 2016 - Aboriginal Languages Variant' differs from the list version in that it excludes 'n.o.s.' (not otherwise specified) categories. These categories are excluded from classifications as they do not uphold the principle of mutual exclusivity required of classifications.

In the Inuit languages and Aboriginal languages variants of the Language of Person 2016 classification, Inuinnaqtun and Inuvialuktun are separate categories. In all other Language of Person 2016 classifications, they are listed as a single category: Inuinnaqtun (Inuvialuktun).
