Variant of NOC 2016 Version 1.0 - Highly aggregated data

This classification variant consists of four levels as indicated in the hierarchical structure of this classification. The first level, contains ten categories for highly aggregated data that are coded from a. to j. Categories a, b and c were created by combining homogenous skill levels. Categories d through j focus on skill types. For this variant, entire major groups were assigned to only one of the categories for highly aggregated data.

Conformity to relevant internationally recognized standards

This variant of NOC 2016 was developed considering the International Standard Classification of Occupations (ISCO 2008) highest aggregation level, reviewing analysis practices for highly aggregated occupational data, and consulting with potential users.
