Classification of after-tax income of person

Usage

The income categories for persons with income can be collapsed to form larger categories to suit a particular data set or analytical purpose. The collapsed categories should be created by combining entire income categories, respecting the category boundaries of this classification.

Persons with negative income are included with persons who had positive income in the category "with income" because like the persons with positive income, those with negative income would have engaged in economic activity that can generate income. Persons with no income are included in the category "without income" because they are typically not engaged in economic activity that can generate income.

The categories boundaries in the classification are expressed in Canadian dollars. The data presentation should specify any adjustments made including whether the unit of measure is current dollars or constant dollars.
