In this variant of NAICS 2012 for the energy (E) sector, the notations "i" and "e" are used in the numbering system. Codes ending with the letter "i" refer to groupings that are different from those of NAICS 2012 because they only contain E industries. Codes ending with the letter "e" refer to groupings that are different from those of NAICS 2012 in that they exclude the E industries. Codes that have neither an "i" nor an "e" are precisely the NAICS 2012 codes.
