Geographic region of origin of person
Definition
Geographic region of origin refers to the region in which migrant lived at the beginning of the specified period and which he or she left during the period. These regions include territories such as census metropolitan area, a province or territory or a country.
Person refers to an individual and is the unit of analysis for most social statistics programs.
