Definition
Perception of local police ensuring neighbourhood safety of the citizens in their area refers to whether a person feels that the local police force does a good job, an average job or a poor job of ensuring neighbourhood safety of the citizens in their area. Local police force refers to the police responsible for the municipality, and excludes security guards, fire marshals, by-law officers and all others who have no authority to make arrests.
Person refers to an individual and is the unit of analysis for most social statistics programs.
