Definition
Perinatal mortality rate refers to the number of perinatal deaths during a given year per 1,000 total births (live births plus stillbirths of 28 or more weeks of gestation).
Population refers to the total membership, based on specific characteristics, of a group of people, objects or events at a given time and within a particular geographic area.
