60 - Deposit Accepting Intermediaries
This subsector consists of groupings of financial intermediaries primarily engaged in accepting deposits, which are employed in financing their lending and investing activities. Cheque and payment clearing services are covered here.
61 - Consumer and Business Financing Intermediaries
This subsector consists of groupings of companies primarily engaged in extending loans to and (or) financing equipment, facilities, inventory and sales for businesses and individuals.
62 - Investment Intermediaries
This subsector consists of groupings of companies and trusts primarily engaged in investing in a portfolio of securities and other investments on behalf of their shareholders or unitholders. Security brokers and dealers are not covered here.
63 - Insurers
This subsector consists of groupings of companies primarily engaged in the underwriting of life and property and casualty insurance contracts. Insurance agents, brokers and adjusters are covered here.
64 - Other Financial Intermediaries
This subsector consists of security dealers and brokers, mortgage brokers, security and commodity exchanges and other financial intermediaries not elsewhere classified.
