Classification of main water treatment processes applied
01 - Conventional treatment
'Conventional treatment' includes water treatment that involves disinfection; coagulation/flocculation; clarification, sedimentation; and, granular media filtration
02 - Direct filtration
'Direct filtration' includes water treatment that involves disinfection; coagulation/flocculation; and, granular media filtration.
03 - Granular media filtration
'Granular media filtration' includes water treatment that involves disinfection; and, granular media filtration.
04 - Cartridge or bag filter
'Cartridge or bag filter' includes water treatment that involves disinfection; and, cartridge/bag filter.
05 - Slow sand filtration
'Slow sand filtration' includes water treatment that involves disinfection; and, slow sand filtration.
06 - Granular media filtration with other filtration
'Granular media filtration with other filtration' includes water treatment that involves disinfection; granular media filtration; and, either slow sand or cartridge/bag filtration.
07 - Membrane filtration
'Membrane filtration' includes water treatment that involves disinfection and membrane (micro, ultra, nano filtration or reverse osmosis).
08 - Membrane filtration with other filtration
'Membrane filtration with other filtration' includes water treatment that involves disinfection and membrane filtration combined with other filtration such as slow sand or cartridge/bag.
09 - Disinfection only
'Disinfection only' includes water treatment that involves disinfection only.
10 - Disinfection and other (unfiltered systems)
'Disinfection and other (unfiltered systems)' includes water treatment that involves disinfection and any other unfiltered system.
11 - No treatment
12 - No disinfection with other treatment
'No disinfection with other treatment' includes water treatment that does not involve disinfection. This may include some systems that use filtration processes.
