1 - Materials (drinking water plant)

Includes costs of materials related to the acquisition and treatment, but not the distribution, of water as well as the costs of chemicals and replacement parts.

2 - Labour (drinking water plant)

Includes labour costs related to the acquisition and treatment, but not the distribution, of water, whether staff are internal or external. Laboratory personnel are included.

3 - Energy (drinking water plant)

Includes energy costs related to the acquisition and treatment, but not the distribution, of water.

4 - Other operation and maintenance costs (drinking water plant)

Includes other operation and maintenance costs related to the acquisition and treatment, but not the distribution, of water. Also includes costs such as waste disposal and residuals handling, analytical/sampling costs, any associated administration and service costs directly related to operation and maintenance (consultants and contractors) and costs related to waste treatment processes (that is, backwash processing and residuals disposal).
