812021.1 - Funeral products for human remains

Caring for and handling a deceased human, including planning and coordinating the individual steps, the preparation of the body, and disposition of the remains.

812021.1.1 - Pre-burial products for human remains

Caring for and handling human remains prior to the final disposition of the body by burial, cremation or other means. Includes planning and coordinating the individual steps in the process, the preparation of the body, and transportation of the body.

812021.1.1.1 - Funeral planning and coordination products

Planning a funeral, arranging administrative matters and coordinating the various steps and facilities involved. Includes securing permits and death certificates, preparing notices, sheltering the remains, coordinating arrangements for or performing memorial services, and coordinating with a cemetery, a crematory, or other third party for final disposition.

812021.1.1.2 - Body preparation products

Preparing the deceased body for visitation and final disposition, by washing, embalming, and/or grooming. Final dressing, placement of the deceased in a casket or preparation for cremation may also be included.

812021.1.1.3 - Transportation of human remains

Transporting a human body between the place of death, funeral home, church, crematory, cemetery, or other place. May include the transportation of friends, relatives, and goods to and from associated sites and functions.

Caring for and handling of human remains prior to the final disposition of the body by burial, cremation or other means, other than planning and coordinating, preparation of the body, or transportation of the body. Includes provision of mourners to attend the deceased.
