621021.1 - Services of hospitals and outpatient care centres

Services provided by hospitals and outpatient care centres. Services include (1) facility services in support of treatment of patients, in which the treatment is provided by independent health practitioners, and (2) the facility service combined with treatment, in which case the treatment is carried out by health practitioners on the staff of the facility. Facility services include services such as the provision of operating rooms, recovery rooms and intensive care units, equipment, medical and diagnostic tests, anesthesia, patient accommodation and meals, nursing services, and medicines and other supplies. Treatment services include evaluation and management of patient conditions, and surgical and non-surgical interventions.

Services provided by hospitals for the non-surgical treatment of inpatients, comprising both non-surgical intervention by health practitioners employed by the hospital, and facility services such as the provision of operating rooms, recovery rooms and intensive care units, equipment, medical and diagnostic tests, anesthesia, patient accommodation and meals, nursing services, and medicines and other supplies.

Services provided by hospitals and outpatient care centres for the non-surgical treatment of patients other than hospital inpatients, comprising both non-surgical intervention by health practitioners employed by the facility, and facility services such as the provision of operating rooms, recovery rooms and intensive care units, equipment, medical and diagnostic tests, anesthesia, patient accommodation and meals, nursing services, and medicines and other supplies.
