Services of independent health practitioners to treat ambulatory patients, by means of surgical interventions. Ambulatory patients are those not admitted as hospital inpatients, or to residential care facilities, and care may be provided in such locations as the offices of health practitioners, at patients' homes, in community health centres, in emergency rooms, or hospital outpatient departments. May include evaluation and management on the day of surgery, postoperative care, writing orders and postoperative follow-up care. Includes services of practitioners in group practice.
