Making wagers on table games, which are those in which the bettor plays against people, rather than machines. The bettor may play against the operator of the game (the "house") or against other bettors, in which case the house receives a commission. Table games may use mechanical devices, such as terminals, for placing bets, but there is always a live dealer or similar person present who controls the operation of the game.

Gambling on sporting and other future events where there is an uncertain outcome. These events include sports events such as horse races, and football, baseball, basketball, and hockey games. Also included is bookmaking activities for non-sport events such as political elections. Includes pari-mutuel bets, made using an Internet connection, on actual (not simulated) races.
