Classification of economic family status

1 - Economic family person

This category includes persons who live in a household in which one or more of the other household members is related to them by blood, marriage, common-law union, adoption or a foster relationship.

2 - Person not in an economic family

This category includes persons who do not live in an economic family. This includes persons who live with people none of whom are related to them either by blood, marriage, common-law union, adoption or a foster relationship. Persons living alone are always included here.
