'Foreign direct investment in Canada' includes direct investment where a resident of another economy has control or a significant degree of influence on the management of an enterprise that is resident in Canada. This direct investment ownership is characterized by the acquisition of between 10 and 100% of the voting equity by the non-resident direct investor into the direct investment enterprise which is resident of Canada.
