Classification of programs and credentials

9 - Post-baccalaureate non-graduate program

This category includes postsecondary programs that are not graduate programs and require a bachelor's degree for admission either explicitly or implicitly (such is the case for concurrent bachelor's degree programs, where the outcome of these programs is equivalent to a program requiring a bachelor's degree, but the degree is not a requirement because of the concurrent nature of the program). In Saskatchewan and British Columbia, this category also captures postsecondary programs at the undergraduate level for which degree completion requires a scope beyond a bachelor's degree due to its breadth and depth of learning. This category excludes degrees in the specific fields of study listed in '12 Professional degree program'.

9.1 - Post-baccalaureate non-graduate short credential

This category includes short credentials for postsecondary programs that are not graduate programs and require a bachelor's degree for admission either explicitly or implicitly (such is the case for concurrent bachelor's degree programs, where the outcome of these programs is equivalent to a program requiring a bachelor's degree, but the degree is not a requirement because of the concurrent nature of the program). These are formal qualifications granted upon successful completion of programs that are shorter than programs where a certificate, diploma or degree is the formal qualification awarded.

9.2 - Post-baccalaureate non-graduate certificate

This category includes certificates for postsecondary programs that are not graduate programs and require a bachelor's degree for admission either explicitly or implicitly (such is the case for concurrent bachelor's degree programs, where the outcome of these programs is equivalent to a program requiring a bachelor's degree, but the degree is not a requirement because of the concurrent nature of the program).

9.3 - Post-baccalaureate non-graduate diploma

This category includes diplomas for postsecondary programs that are not graduate programs and require a bachelor's degree for admission either explicitly or implicitly (such is the case for concurrent bachelor's degree programs, where the outcome of these programs is equivalent to a program requiring a bachelor's degree, but the degree is not a requirement because of the concurrent nature of the program).

9.4 - Post-baccalaureate non-graduate degree

This category includes degrees for postsecondary programs that are not graduate programs and require a bachelor's degree for admission either explicitly or implicitly (such is the case for concurrent bachelor's degree programs, where the outcome of these programs is equivalent to a program requiring a bachelor's degree, but the degree is not a requirement because of the concurrent nature of the program). In Saskatchewan and British Columbia, this category also captures postsecondary programs at the undergraduate level for which degree completion requires a scope beyond a bachelor's degree due to its breadth and depth of learning. This category excludes the specific fields of study listed in '12.1 Professional degree'.

9.5 - Other post-baccalaureate non-graduate credential

This category includes other recognized credentials for postsecondary programs that are not graduate programs and require a bachelor's degree for admission either explicitly or implicitly (such is the case for concurrent bachelor's degree programs, where the outcome of these programs is equivalent to a program requiring a bachelor's degree, but the degree is not a requirement because of the concurrent nature of the program). It excludes post-baccalaureate non-graduate short credentials, certificates, diplomas and degrees.
