Purpose
The purpose of this survey is to collect the financial and operating/production data needed to develop national and regional economic policies and programs.
Additional information
Part B - Annual Retail Trade Survey collects data on individual business locations.
Part B is designed to:
- update location information for the business unit covered by Part A;
- collect key information about your individual business location(s);
- avoid sending detailed questionnaires to each of your individual business location(s).

Collected under the Authority of the Statistics Act, Revised Statutes of Canada, 1985, Chapter S-19. Completion of this supplement is a legal requirement under this Act. Reporting instructions
General guidelines
Please do the following:
- report only for those operations located in Canada;
- verify that the questionnaire number pre-printed on the top left corner of the attached form matches the questionnaire number pre-printed on the front of Part A. If they do not match, please call Statistics Canada at the toll-free number indicated below;
- verify that all pre-printed information is correct;
- report the name, address and relevant data for business locations which have been closed or opened. Make sure the appropriate reasons and dates for these closures or openings are also indicated in the columns "Part year operation" and "Date(s) for part year operation";
- ensure that the sum of total operating revenue of all locations on Part B must equal the total reported on Part A, question 9.

1) Complete for all business locations operating during the same reporting
period as indicated in Part A.
2) Enter all locations not listed.
3) Verify and update, if necessary, the business location activity with the pre-printed NAICS code (consult the Retail NAICS reference guide at www.statcan.gc.ca/guides-e).
4) The sum of total operating revenue of all locations on Part B must equal
the total reported on Part A, page 2, question 9.
