What was the gross monthly payroll for all employees and working owners of incorporated businesses? Report the total remuneration PAID during the survey reference month, before deductions. It includes any amount subject to appear in Box 14 of the T4 slips (regular pay, overtime pay, taxable benefits, special payments, etc.).

What were the start and end dates of the gross monthly payroll reported in question 1? Report the first day of the first regular pay period and the last day of the last regular pay period PAID OUT within the reference month.

Report the start date of the first regular pay period and the end date of the last regular pay period paid out during the reference month.

Example:
In October, a business paid its employees (for a bi-weekly pay) on October 10th, and on October 24th. This business pays its employees with a 5 day lag time. The start and end dates for the first regular pay period paid out in October, on the 10th, are September 22nd and October 5th respectively. The start and end dates for the second regular pay period paid out in October, on the 24th, are October 6th and October 19th respectively. The dates to be reported in question 2 are September 22nd (start date of the first regular pay period paid out in October) and October 19th (end date of the last regular pay period paid out in October).
