Description
Canadians benefit from a national programme that promotes public safety in the transportation of dangerous goods. This programme is managed at the federal level by the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Directorate, an arm of Transport Canada. The Directorate administers an accident reporting requirement made law under Section 8.6 and 8.11 of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations. These reports make their way onto a system called the Dangerous Goods Accident Information System (DGAIS).
