The Automotive Repair and Maintenance Survey was conducted for the first time in 1999. In 2001 the Automotive Repair and Maintenance Survey was merged with a part of Repair and Maintenance Survey excluding Automotive (as NAICS 8114 was excluded from the new survey). Therefore, for 2001 the new survey's name became the Repair and Maintenance Services Survey (record number 4720).
