Reference period of change - first quarter 2008

The Farm Input Price Index has been redeveloped as a quarterly indicator of the change in the price of farm inputs faced by Canadian farmers. The data sources for the index are administrative data and data from various programs within Statistics Canada.

Reference period of change - 2007

2007 is the last reference year for which annual data were published.

Reference period of change - 1999

The index has been reweighted and rebased; 1992 is now its base year. In addition, the index has been converted from a quarterly index to an annual index, and regional breakdowns are now available for eastern Canada, western Canada and all Canada. The last quarter for which data were published is the first quarter of 1999.
