Reference period of change - March 2018

As of May 31st we are now releasing revenues by region for urban transit.

Reference period of change - January 2017

As of the January 2017 reference period, the survey was renamed "Monthly Passenger Bus and Urban Transit Survey".

This survey is now collected by IBSP and is collected by an electronic questionnaire. Monthly estimates are produced for urban transit and scheduled intercity services.

This survey now uses NAICS 2012.

Target population - The target population now includes all urban and inter-city transit establishments (as opposed to, previously, only the top 10 urban and top two inter-city units).

Sampling - Previously, the sample of this survey was a fixed panel selected by subject matter experts.

Reference period of change - February 2007

Target population - This survey now uses NAICS 2007.

Reference period of change - January 2005

As of the January 2005 reference period, the survey was renamed "Large Urban Transit Survey"

Reference period of change - November 2004

The survey was reinstated as the "Passenger Bus/Urban Transit Survey - Monthly" in 2003. Beginning with the November 2004 reference month (released January 18, 2005), Statistics Canada is releasing monthly data from this survey. Data are available in CANSIM beginning with January 2003.

Reference period of change - December 1994

The "Urban Transit Survey - Monthly" was discontinued as of December 1994. At the same time, its companion survey, the "Intercity and Rural Passenger Bus Survey" was also discontinued (see record number 2744).
