Monthly Oil and Other Liquid Petroleum Products Pipeline Survey (MOPS) data will no longer be released. The final MOPS dataset was released February 20, 2020 for the December 2019 reference month. Monthly transportation and storage of crude oil, petroleum products and renewable fuels data can now be found in tables 25-10-0075-01 and 25-10-0077-01, which replaced table 25-10-0056-01 (Canadian pipeline transport of oil and other liquid petroleum products, monthly).

Changes have been made to the content and methodology of the Monthly Oil and Other Liquid Petroleum Products Pipeline Survey. These new changes have resulted in the creation of data table 25-10-0056, which replaces data tables 25-10-0037, 25-10-0038, 25-10-0039, 25-10-0040 and 25-10-0067. While these tables remain available for reference, users should use caution when comparing them to the new table.
Target population - The target population is now comprised of all establishments in Canada engaged in the receipt and delivery of crude oils, liquefied petroleum gases and refined petroleum product. classified to NAICS sub-sector 486 Pipeline Transportation. This sub-sector comprises establishments primarily engaged in the transport of products by pipeline including integrated systems comprised of various types of pipelines and ancillary facilities such as pumping stations and incidental storage facilities under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS 2012).
Reference period of change - June 2005
Target population - As of 2002 the industry classification of the Monthly Oil Pipeline Transport is based on the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 2002.
