Exposure to second-hand smoke of person, proportion

Exposure to second-hand smoke refers to whether or not at least one person smokes inside the person's home every day or almost every day. It also include a person that was exposed to second-hand smoke in either private vehicles or public spaces on most days in the previous month. Smoking includes cigarettes, cigars and pipes.

Person refers to an individual and is the unit of analysis for most social statistics programs.

The data for this variable are reported using the following measurements:

  • Age standardized rate
  • Percentage
