Smoking status of person, proportion

Smoking status refers to whether or not the person has ever smoked and, if so, whether or not he or she currently smokes and his or her smoking frequency.

Person refers to an individual and is the unit of analysis for most social statistics programs.

The data for this variable are reported using the following measurements:

  • Age standardized rate
  • Percentage
