Property income of household sector, category

Property income includes income that accrues when the owners of financial assets and natural resources put them at the disposal of other institutional units. The income payable for the use of financial assets is called investment income while that payable for the use of a natural resource or land is called rent. Property income is the sum of investment income and rent.

Household sector refers to all resident households and their unincorporated businesses in the case of the Income and Outlay Accounts, the Capital and Financial Accounts and the National Balance Sheets Accounts. In the Production Accounts household unincorporated businesses are excluded.
