Contributions to percent change in international import of goods, proportion

Contributions to percent change refers to the contribution of a sub-aggregate to the percent change in an aggregate. For example, if consumer expenditures increased 2% and the contribution to the percent change by motor vehicle purchases was 1%, then motor vehicle purchases have accounted for half of the increase in consumer expenditure.

International imports of goods refers to current payments originating from abroad arising out of transactions in moveable goods between residents and non-residents. Goods are physical, produced objects for which a demand exists, over which ownership rights can be established and whose ownership can be transferred from one institutional unit to another by engaging in transactions on markets.
