Product flow account of energy use, measure

Product flow account refers to a record in physical units of measure of the supply and use of products within the economy. Examples include steel, piped water, and motor gasoline. Products are the second section of the standard physical supply and use table described in the United Nations System of Environmental-Economic Accounting: Central Framework (SEEA-CF), Table 3.1, in Chapter 3 on Physical Flow Accounts. Product flow accounting is discussed in section 3.6.2. of the SEEA-CF.

Energy use refers to the consumption of energy products for energy purposes. As such it excludes non-energy uses of energy products such as the use of oil as a lubricant rather than as a fuel.
