Suicidal thoughts refers to whether or not a person had, in a specified time period, seriously considered committing suicide (taking their own lives).

In the 2017 Aboriginal Peoples Survey, proxy reporting was not permitted for 'suicidal thoughts'.

Person refers to an individual and is the unit of analysis for most social statistics programs.
