In and out mobility for migrant population of a territory, it refers to population who are new residents and those who left. It reports people residing in the territory in the reference period, but not the previous period. And it reports the people that resided in the territory in the previous period but not anymore.

Geographic area refers to areas whose boundaries are specifically delimited in accordance with well-defined concepts and which, in total, cover the entire landmass of Canada. It excludes Canadian territorial enclaves abroad.
