Criminal court of case, category

Criminal court refers to provincial-territorial and superior courts in Canada where federal statute charges are heard. Includes youth courts and adult criminal courts. Appeal courts, federal courts (e.g., Tax Court of Canada) and the Supreme Court of Canada are not included.
The adult criminal courts component includes persons aged 18 years or older at the time of the offence and companies.
The youth courts component includes persons aged 12 to 17 years old at the time of the offence and companies.

Case refers to one or more charges against an accused person or company, which were processed by the courts at the same time (date of offence, date of initiation, date of first appearance, date of decision/sentencing), and received a final decision.
