Police Administration Survey (PAS)

Number of police personnel, count

Number refers to the count of observations of a given statistical unit.

Police personnel refers to permanent, full-time equivalents of police officers and other support; part-time employees are converted to full-time equivalents (e.g. 4 employees working 10 hours per week would equal 1 full-time employee working a 40-hour week). Auxiliary police and other volunteer personnel are not included.
