Index of income of geographic area, index
Index of income refers to a measure of change of income that allows comparison between years or geographical areas. The index is a comparison of the variable for the given area, for the given tax year, with either the province (province = 100) or with Canada (Canada = 100).
Geographic area refers to areas whose boundaries are specifically delimited in accordance with well-defined concepts and which, in total, cover the entire landmass of Canada. It excludes Canadian territorial enclaves abroad.
The data for this variable are reported using the following measurements:
- Index of region using the value of Canada equal to 100
- Index of region using the value of the province equal to 100
